SARAJEVO, Feb 1 (Hina) - The newly-appointed international High
Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Christian Scwartz Schilling, said in
Sarajevo on Wednesday that the country's top priority in the next term would be
talks on signing a Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the European
union and on joining NATO's Partnership for Peace programme.
Schwartz Shilling was speaking to reporters after meeting members of
Parliament, his first official meeting with Bosnian officials since he formally
took over from Paddy Ashdown on Tuesday.
The High Representative called for strengthening the Bosnian economy in
order to improve living standards in the country, and also highlighted the
importance of how Bosnian politicians would approach the next general election,
scheduled for October.
