"Relations between Croatia and Turkey are continuously good, developed and not burdened by outstanding issues, starting with the support of the idea of Croatia's independence, Turkey's support during the Homeland Defence War and Turkey's support to Croatia's admission in NATO and Croatia recognises and acknowledges Turkey's current geopolitical importance," Bebic said at the meeting.
Bebic and Oezuegergin agreed that there was room to further develop bilateral parliamentary cooperation, to the benefit of both countries.
They also agreed that cooperation could be advanced in trade exchange, tourism, environment protection with an emphasis on the biological balance of the Mediterranean, the statement said.
Bebic also received the newly-appointed Finnish Ambassador, Juha Ottman.
He thanked the Finnish diplomat for his country's support to Croatia's European Union membership bid.
Ottman said he was admired at Croatia's progress in adjusting its national legislation to the EU standards.
The two officials agreed that bilateral cooperation could be further advanced in energetics, environmental protection and education and science.
