Both presidents expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations, including the issue of equal treatment of Croatian citizens and former Croatian citizens who now have citizenship of other countries, as part of the issue of the restitution of property, namely compensation for confiscated property, the statement said.
According to the statement, Mesic and Fisher agreed to continue consultations at the presidential and other levels.
Late last week, Mesic and Fisher also talked on the phone about the two countries' relations and the issue of compensating foreign citizens. The Croatian president invited his Austrian counterpart to informally visit Croatia in spring.
