The award was given to HTZ director Niko Bulic and the head of the HTZ bureau in Japan, Edouard Katayama Tripkovic, at a ceremony organised during the ongoing "JATA World Travel Fair" in Tokyo.
The HTZ set up its branch office in Japan in 2008.
This year, the office was declared the best foreign tourism bureau among 53 foreign tourism offices operating in Japan.
In 2009, 163,000 Japanese guests visited Croatia, up 14 percent from 2008. They made 221,000 overnight stays, 10 percent up on the year.
