Lupu highlighted the very good cooperation between the Croatian and the Moldovan parliament, particularly among the parliamentary delegations for European integration and within the parliamentary Croatian-Moldovan Friendship Group.
The Croatian-Moldovan Friendship Group in the Moldovan parliament consists of 35 out of 100 members of the Moldovan parliament.
Mesic reaffirmed Croatia's willingness to help Moldova in European integration processes, saying that it was in Croatian interests that all countries in its neighbourhood should integrate with the European Union "because investing in the economic prosperity and stability of Southeast Europe means investing in the prosperity and security of entire Europe."
Apart from bilateral relations, Mesic and Lupu also discussed regional issues, such as Kosovo and the Trans-Dniester region.
Also on Wednesday, Mesic visited the Capriana monastery, and before flying to Kazakhstan, he was due to meet again his host, President Vladimir Voronin.
