ZAGREB, June 15 (Hina) - The first Jewish Film Festival London - Zagreb, dedicated to contemporary films depicting the multilayered Jewish culture around the world, began at Zagreb's Tuskanac cinema on Friday with a screening of "West
Bank Story", this year's Oscar winner in the short film category.

Zagreb, dedicated to contemporary films depicting the multilayered Jewish
culture around the world, began at Zagreb's Tuskanac cinema on Friday with a
screening of "West Bank Story", this year's Oscar winner in the short film
category. Attending the opening was Israeli Ambassador Shmuel
Meirom.
Judy Ironside, the director of London's Jewish Film Festival, said the
aim of the Zagreb event was to entertain, educate and illuminate Jewish culture
and tradition.
Before closing on June 17, the festival will feature a dozen new
films.
It is expected to be expanded to the southern Adriatic resort of
Dubrovnik this year and to the entire region in 2008, it was announced.
The event was organised by the Magen agency, which deals with the
culture and development of minority communities in Croatia.
