After a meeting with Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic, Schwarzenberg told reporters that the talks were very pleasant and that the two countries had no outstanding issues so the talks focused on the Czech experience from the EU intergationa processes.
Its is out great wish that Croatia joins the EU during our presidency of the bloc, namely in 2009, Schwarzenberg said.
The Czech Republic is an EU member state and Croatia aspires to join the bloc so the Czech Republic wants to share its experience from the past 15 years during which it had transformed from a country behind the iron curtain to a full EU member.
That period was neither easy nor simple, but looking from today's point of view this experience was very useful and we want to share it with Croatia, Schwarzenberg said.
Croatian Minister Grabar Kitarovic reiterated that the two countries had no outstanding issues and thanked the Czech Republic on its constant strong support to Croatia not only on the path to the EU but also on the one to NATO.
She said that the two countries' cooperation within international organisations was excellent, notably withing the NATO's ISAF Mission in Afghanistan. She also underlined that the two countries' cooperation in tourism, trade and the economy was growing
Croatia hopes that Czech investors would join the privatisation process in different sectors, the Croatian minister said.
