OSIJEK, May 23 (Hina) - The Osijek County Court on Tuesday
discussed an appeal submitted by Branimir Glavas and six other indictees in the
war crimes proceedings dubbed as the Sellotape Case and decided to overrule
the objections, thus making the indictment final, spokesman for the court
Mirolav Rozac said on Wednesday. The defence attorneys for Branimir
Glavas, Ivica Krnjak and Dino Kontic withdrew their objections to the
indictment on Tuesday, before the court overruled them.
Apart from Glavas, Krnjak and Kontic, the other indictees are Gordana
Getos Magdic, Mirko Sivic, Tihomir Valentic and Zdravko Dragic.
The prosecution charges them with the killing of Serb civilians on the
Drava River banks in the eastern city of Osijek in late 1991 when eastern
Croatia was exposed to attacks of the then Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) and
Serb paramilitary units and local Serb rebels.
