At a news conference held during a recess of the HDZ Presidency session, Croatian Prime Minister Sanader announced the mobilisation of the party members and the completion of the launched projects.
PM Sanader also said that the main celebration of the 18th anniversary of the party would be held at the HDZ convention on 30 June, while the traditional marking of the party's anniversary would be held on 17 June.
Sanader said that the HDZ would publish the summary of its achievements during this term in office by November, when the regular parliamentary elections will be held.
The public will also be informed of the HDZ's guidelines for Croatia's development between 2007 and 2011, Sanader said, adding that his party wanted to complete the job they were entrusted with at the last elections, adding that it will not go public with economic programmes and 'hold an auction with other parties'.
Croatia made significant progress, but it still must solve the unemployment issue and improve the standard of living, Sanader said.
The PM dismissed media speculations that the HDZ convention was called earlier because the Social Democrats took a lead in the latest opinion polls and is now the most popular party.
Asked to comment on an assessment given by the ICTY prosecutor's office that Operation Storm was a criminal enterprise involving the first Croatian President Franjo Tudjman, former Defence Minister Gojko Susak and generals Zvonimir Crvenko and Janko Bobetko (all four are deceased) and three ICTY indictees generals Ante Gotovina, Ivan Cermak and Mladen Markac, Sanader firmly dismissed it.
He said that the military and police Operations of Storm and Flash showed determination in defending independence of the Croatian state.
Commenting on the declassifying the so-called Brijuni transcripts, that was discussed by the parliamentary committee on home affairs and national security earlier today, Sanader said he expected a report from that session, adding he would voice his opinion about it once he read the report.
