After visiting Zagreb earlier in the day and Sisak this afternoon, the EU bus will also tour Osijek, Vukovar, Slavonski Brod, Split, Zadar, Rijeka and Pula. During the tour, the host towns will organise games and competitions the purpose of which is to bring the EU closer to the average citizen, particularly young people.
A Sisak high school today hosted the finals of a debate tournament of high school students, with the topic of the competition being Croatia's integration with the EU. The winners of the competition won a study tour to the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg.
Several information stands of the EU, the Foreign Ministry, NGOs and cultural and art associations, as well as stands with ecological and indigenous products from Sisak County were installed in the town's central Ban Jelacic Square.
Visitors at EU and Foreign Ministry stands inquired about the EU and about Croatia's admission to the bloc, and representatives of the European Commission and the foreign ministry answered their questions.
