The first joint session of the governments of the two neighbouring countries was held in January 2006 in Budapest.
On that occasion, the two governments' officials discussed issues from the energy sector and the Croatian-Hungarian joint candidacy for hosting the 2012 European Football Championships. Recently, Poland and Ukraine were selected to organise that sporting event.
So far, Croatia has also held a joint governmental session with Slovenia and this was on the Croatian island of Brijuni in June 2005, the government spokesman Ratko Macek told reporters.
Preparations for the next joint session to be held in the Slovene capital in Ljubljana are under way, according to Macek.
