ZAGREB, April 19 (Hina) - Croatia's Ambassador to France Mirko Galic on Thursday handed his credentials to French President Jacques Chirac, thus officially taking over the post of Croatia's ambassador to France, the Foreign Affairs
and European Integration Ministry said in a statement.

Galic on Thursday handed his credentials to French President Jacques Chirac,
thus officially taking over the post of Croatia's ambassador to France, the
Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry said in a statement. Galic conveyed to President Chirac greetings from President Stjepan Mesic
and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader.
The two officials expressed satisfaction with overall relations between
the two countries.
President Chirac reiterated that his country supported Croatia's
efforts to join the European Union and NATO. The French president also inquired
about reform processes in Croatia, the situation in Southeast Europe, and
Croatia's relations with neighbouring countries.
