ZAGREB, Jan 23 (Hina) - Croatia advocates the policy of dialogue and the peaceful settlement of all, even the most complex issues in international relations, and expects Iran's support for its candidacy for non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council, Deputy Parliament Speaker Mato Arlovic said in Zagreb on Tuesday.

Arlovic received Iranian Ambassador Mohammad H. Fadaifard, the parliament said in a press release, adding the two officials concluded that Croatian-Iranian relations were good and friendly, without outstanding issues.

They said cultural cooperation was also highly developed, but that economic relations and trade were unsatisfying.

Arlovic underlined that Iran had been among the first states to recognise Croatia's independence and thanked it for the humanitarian aid provided for refugees and displaced persons.

A delegation of the Iranian parliament's Iranian-Croatian Friendship Group is scheduled to visit the Croatian parliament this spring and the Iranian parliament speaker is also expected to visit soon.
