The yard of the home of the Missionaries of Charity in the Croatian capital was overcrowded on this occasion, according to a press release issued by the public relations office of the Zagreb Archdiocese on Saturday evening.
Speaking about the life of Mother Teresa who for decades helped the poor, the sick, orphans and other destitute people, Cardinal Bozanic described her as the embodiment of the ideal of Divine Love.
This week, the Missionaries of Charity and admirers of that Catholic nun of Albanian ethnicity and Indian citizenship will begin holding commemorations to observe the Day of beatified Mother Teresa, which is on 5 September.
Mother Teresa, who won international renown as a humanitarian and advocate for the poor and helpless, was born on 26 August 1910 in Skopje, Macedonia, and died on 5 September 1997 in Kolkata, India.
