After the talks, Santic told reporters that they had been informed that the mayor of Lourdes had invited President Mesic to take part in an international military pilgrimage to that Marian shrine in France, and that Mesic would go there if his schedule allowed.
Asked to comment on "differences" regarding the invitation to Mesic to travel to Lourdes, Santic said that the military diocese of Croatia could not invite the President to pay a visit to another country, but that the invitation was extended by the mayor of Lourdes.
