SLAVONSKI SAMAC, June 11 (Hina) - Some 30 farmers from Slavonski
Brod County blocked traffic at the Slavonski Brod border crossing towards
Bosnia-Herzegovina on Thursday morning in support to protests of dairy farmers
who flocked into Zagreb in tractors and blocked the streets around the building
housing the Agriculture Ministry in the city on Wednesday, demanding talks
with the government. The police redirected traffic towards the
nearby Zupanja border crossing.
The negotiations on higher prices of some agricultural products and on
rescheduling of loans granted to farmers are under way in the Croatian
capital.
The protesting farmer at the Samac crossing said that they would
persist in the blockade until they were updated about results from the
negotiations.
