"The Afghan side appreciates Croatia's role in the training of the Afghan National Army (ANA) and is interested in including Croatian companies in the reconstruction of infrastructure in Afghanistan," Vukelic said after the talks in Kabul.
Vukelic also held talks with the UN Special Representative to Afghanistan, Kai Eide and his deputy for political issues, Peter Galbraith, a former US ambassador to Croatia.
The Croatian official met the Afghan military Chief of Staff, General Bismillah Khan Mohammadi, for talks on Croatia's participation in the ISAF mission.
Vukelic informed the general that Croatia was planning to increase its troops in Afghanistan to 330 in 2010.
In the ISAF headquarters the mission's deputy commander, Lieutenant General Jim Duttun, informed Vukelic and the Croatian delegation about the mission and praised the Croatian troops for high-quality work.
