In the interview which the newspaper published on Sunday, Josipovic announced his visit to Montenegro very soon, explaining that talks were under way to fix the date of his tour to that Croatian neighbour.
"The relations are excellent, tending to develop into excellent ones. Our cooperation is being improved. Communication among people is developing. I expect much of this tourist season in which we will certainly have partner relations in tourist projects, apart from exchange of people," Josipovic said.
The Croatian head of state commended Montenegro's efforts to join the European Union and pledged Croatia's assistance in that regard.
"We will certainly help. Croatia helped Bosnia-Herzegovina by lobbying for granting NATO's Membership Action Plan (MAP) status to that county and in the same way it will certainly help Montenegro through the transfer of our experience we have gained (on the road towards the EU)," he said.
As regards the efforts to demarcate the borderline at the peninsula of Prevlaka, the only outstanding issue in the Croatian-Montenegrin relations, Josipovic said that if the two sides could not reach agreement they must seek some mechanism, such as the International Court of Justice, to settle the issue.
"In my opinion, this is a sensible solution, or something like an arbitration agreement we reached with the Slovenians. It is important to start solving issues," he said.
