The exhibition is about the culture of coffee consumption in coffee houses, bars and similar facilities as well as about the cultivation of coffee beans and the production of that beverage.
Drinking coffee as an everyday ritual has been present in Croatia since the 1950s, according to the exhibition's author Zvjezdana Antos, who presented the programme of the event at a news conference in Zagreb on Friday.
During the period of socialism in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, cafes were the first form of private entrepreneurship in the region.
By 2009, 16,000 cafe owners were registered with the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts (HOK).
