For the 27-year-old, this marks his fourth individual bronze at major competitions. A former world junior champion in 10m air rifle, Maričić won bronze at the 2018 World Championships in Changwon, claimed his first European bronze in Hamar in 2022 and finished third at last year's Olympic Games in Paris.
Ukraine's Serhiy Kulish took gold today, while Russia's Ilia Marsov won silver.
Maričić also won a team silver medal today in the 10m air rifle event alongside Petar Gorša and Josip Sikavica, bringing his tally of European silver medals to four. He previously earned bronze at the European Championships in Osijek in 2021 and Hamar in 2022, as well as silver at the 2023 European Games in Krakow.
