The measures comes as part of efforts to protect the ancient site and after a record-breaking summer, with over 4 million total visitors and peaks of over 36,000 presences in a single day, recorded on the occasion of free entry Sundays. ZAGREB, 10 March (Hina) – Tourists generated just over 3 billion overnight stays in EU countries in 2024, marking an increase of 2.2%, or 65.4 million more overnight stays compared with 2023, according to data provided by the European Union's statistical office, Eurostat.
