Spain set a new record for the arrival of foreign tourists for the first half of the year with 42.5 million people, 13.3 percent more than in the same period of 2023, in a period in which social rejection of overcrowding due to the excessive influx of visitors is growing. International tourists continue to bet in increasing numbers on Spanish destinations. Their number already exceeds pre-pandemic figures, although in some tourist spots there has been a parallel growth in rejection of this high number of visitors who crowd beaches, some neighborhoods and the central areas of some cities and tourist places.
