Al-Kharboutli was killed on 04 December in an airstrike on Murk city, Hama countryside, while covering the ongoing fighting between opposition and government forces, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR). The Syrian Journalists Association warned on 01 December that journalists covering the recent military developments in Syria are facing dangers and direct targeting threatening their lives. Syrian opposition forces, led by the Islamist militant group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), launched an offensive on 27 November, taking large parts of Aleppo, Syria's second-largest city. The offensive triggered counterattacks by the Syrian regime forces as well as Russian and Syrian airstrikes on opposition-controlled areas. BEJRUT/AMAN, 6. prosinca 2024. (Hina/Reuters) - Tisuće ljudi pobjegle su iz središnjega sirijskog grada Homsa tijekom noći i u petak ujutro, rekla je skupina za promatranje rata i stanovnici, dok pobunjeničke snage nastavljaju svoju munjevitu ofenzivu protiv vladinih snaga prema jugu.
