According to reports quoting the Pentagon on 06 October 2017, the US State Department has approved the possible sale of THAAD defense systems to Saudi Arabia in a deal worth it 15 billion US Dollar. Saudi Arabia asked to purchase 44 THAAD launchers and 360 missiles, including fire control stations and radars, in a bid to increase security against regional threats, with Iran among them, media added.
