Six cities and counties in Taiwan have announced the closure of schools and offices on October 1 due to alerts issued for Typhoon Krathon by the Central Weather Administration (CWA). As of Tuesday morning, the typhoon was intensifying and moving north toward southwest Taiwan. At 10 a.m., it was positioned 220 kilometers south-southwest of Kaohsiung, traveling north at 4 kilometers per hour.
