The death toll from a Russian strike on an educational institution in Poltava rose to at least 54 dead and 297 injured, SES said. Ukrainian rescuers continued to work at the site of the attack, where five more people are feared to be trapped under the rubble. Russian troops entered Ukrainian territory on 24 February 2022, starting a conflict that has provoked destruction and a humanitarian crisis.
