epa07254483 (FILE) - Tourists ride on a vaporetto in Venice, Italy, 24 May 2018 (reissued 30 December 2018). Italy's newly-approved budget includes the introduction of an entrance tax for tourists who visit Venice. At present visitors pay a charge of one euro-fifty-cents each for every night spent in a hotel or rented apartment. The new measure authorizes the city to replace the charge with an entrance tax, meaning that anyone who visits the city for a day or even just a few hours, will also have to pay.
