The International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, the Netherlands, has issued an arrest warrant on 17 March 2023 for Russian President Vladimir Putin, accusing him of being responsible for war crimes, including the unlawful deportation and transfer of children from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation. The alleged crimes were committed in Ukrainian occupied territory at least from 24 February 2022, when Russia launched its full-scale invasion, the court added.
