This year the race is being held to raise funds for fighting diabetes. Participants will run or walk for five or ten kilometres through Ban Jelacic Square, Ilica Street and Zrinjevac Park. Those with the most creative costumes will receive prizes. All participants will wear specially designed Santa Claus hats in blue, the colour symbolising the fight against diabetes.
The race is the only sporting event of this year's Zagreb Advent and is dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of physical activity for those suffering from diabetes. The funds raised from participation fees will be donated to the Croatian Alliance of Diabetes Organisations.
Because of the race, traffic regulation in the city centre will be changed on December 16.
