The system will help in gathering statistics to facilitate the monitoring of needs and recognise trends in new forms of poverty, she said, adding that the e-Caritas will go live as of January 1 next year.
The press conference was held ahead of the 25th anniversary since the launch of Caritas in Croatia, which is marked on November 24. The anniversary will be celebrated with a concert and two traditional charity drives.
Caritas annually supports between 85,000 and 100,000 families in need in Croatia.
