Author: Ivana Tomičić Šušak

ZAGREB, Nov 11 (Hina) - The southern Croatian island of Vis, where the blockbuster "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again" was filmed, will compete with 11 other locations for the European Location Award.

In 2018, 12 new locations are competing for the European Film Location Award, created by the European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN) in collaboration with Cineuropa.

This year again each member of the EUFCN had the opportunity to nominate a film location from a film or TV series shot between January and December 2017. All the movies and TV series competing for the award need to have international distribution.

Apart from Vis island, also shortlisted are Tabernas Desert in Almeria, Spain for "The Sisters Brothers"; Innsbruck Old Town in Austria for "Tiger Zinda Hai"; Frankfurt, Germany for "Bad Banks"; Corfu Island in Greece for "The Durrels"; Lake Carezza in Italy for "The girl in the Fog"; Fort St. Elmo – National War Museum in Valleta, Malta for "Murder on the Orient Express"; Valle dei Calanchi, Viterbo in Italy for "Happy as Lazzaro"; Hotel Metropole in Brussles for "The Happy Prince"; Teide National Park in Spain for "Yucatan"; the Michaelerplatz square in Vienna for "Red Sparrow"; and Preikestolen in Norway for "Mission Impossible: Fallout."

From November 6, people can vote for the best location by simply filling in the online form available on www.cineuropa.com.

The deadline for voting is November 30.
