Flexible hours, work-from-home options most desirable benefits for employees - survey

ZAGREB, June 14 (Hina) - A quarter of the 1,800 respondents covered by a survey conducted by the MojPosao job portal say they prefer flexible hours as the most desirable benefit, while one in five respondents find education paid by employer and work-from-home options to be the best benefits.

Although the respondents were offered answers such as higher wages, improved work conditions or other perks offered by employers, 23% of those polled say that they place the highest value on the benefit of flexible work hours.

They value flexible hours and work-life balance as this enables them to perform their private duties such as care for children or care for elderly members of their households.

As many as 22% of those polled find free education as the best benefit, especially when employers cover costs of the doctoral education or cover the costs of research their employees may conduct.

Besides, the possibility of promotion is also attractive, according to the survey.

Furthermore, 21% of those polled find the work-from-home option to be the most desirable benefit as this could also can hep them to achieve work-life balance, and working from home helps them to work in a more peaceful environment.

In addition, you do not lose any time on commuting from home to work, and the concentration is better at home, says one of the respondents.

One in ten respondents also prefer being given an official car, as the private poses a considerable cost.

Also, 9% of those polled ask for more vacation time.

Seven (7) percent prefer free snacks and drinks at work as they usually spend a lot on that.

Five (5) percent of those polled want a free park space, paid transportation or free weekends.

A mere three percent of those polled want employers to enable them free gym membership or free yoga or other entertainment activities, says this job portal.
