Croatia too will mark the Year of Troy which is dedicated to one of the most significant world archaeological sites, with a rich cultural programme.
The official beginning of the Year of Troy will be marked on Monday evening in the Zagreb Archeological Museum with a lecture given by Troy's chief archaeologist, Rustem Aslan.
The Museum of Troy will open in Turkey in July housing many of the key collections and archaeological findings from the site, Aslan said.
The history of the ancient city of Troy goes back to 3.000 BC. Troy was excavated by German Archeologist Heinrich Schliemann 125 years ago.
