ZAGREB, March 21 (Hina) - The chairman of the parliamentary group of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) party, Branko Bacic, said on Wednesday that the discussion at the HDZ Presidency meeting showed that the HDZ was a democratic party, rejecting speculation that the meeting revealed a deep division within the party ranks because 19 of the Presidency members were in favour of ratifying the Istanbul Convention and six were against, while the head of the parliamentary group of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Arsen Bauk, said that this strongest opposition party would not support "fake" ratification of the Convention with reservations.
