Croatia is at the global average in financial literacy, Education Minister Blazenka Divjak said, adding that this would not have been that bad had there not been groups with a significantly lower financial literacy rate. These groups are those younger than 19, older than 70, residents of rural areas and those less-educated.
The minister announced the introduction of experimental classes on business and enterprise but also underlined the importance of life-long learning.
Croatian National Bank (HNB) vice governor Bojan Fras said that significant progress in affirming the idea of financial education had been achieved over the past four years.
