The Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1923, is one of the leading German radio orchestras.
The orchestra's exceptional and unique sound has been shaped by great master-conductors such as Sergiu Celibidache, Eugen Jochum, Rafael Fruehbeck de Burgos and others.
Many prominent composers have performed with the orchestra as conductors or soloists in their own works, such as Paul Hindemith, Sergei Prokofiev, Richard Strauss, Arnold Schoenberg and Igor Stravinsky, and in the more recent past Krzysztof Penderecki, Peter Ruzicka and Joerg Widmann.
Young Croatian pianist Aljosa Jurinic has thrilled domestic and foreign audiences alike as well as critics.
He won the Robert Schumman Competition in Zwickau in 2012, and is the first Croatian pianist to have entered the finals of the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2015.
The winner of all leading awards for young musicians in Croatia, Jurinic performs as a soloist and accompanied by orchestras in the country and abroad.
The audience at the Saturday concert will be listening to works by Croatian composer Natko Devcic, Prokofiev and Gustav Mahler.
