Croatia's exports up 13.4%, imports up 10.3% in Jan-Sept 2017

ZAGREB, Nov 9 (Hina) - Croatia exported HRK 75.45 billion worth of commodities in the first nine months of 2017, an increase of 13.4% over the same period in 2016, while imports increased by 10.3% to HRK 121.03 billion, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS) on Thursday.

In the first nine months of the year, the trade deficit increased by HRK 2.36 billion or 5.5% to HRK 45.57 billion, while the rate of coverage of imports by exports rose by 1.7 percentage points to 62.3%.

Croatia increased exports to EU countries by 8.9% to HRK 48.7 billion, while exports to non-EU countries rose by 22.4% to HRK 26.76 billion.

At the same time, imports from the EU increased by 9.2% to HRK 94 billion and imports from non-EU countries rose by 14.3% to HRK 27 billion.
