Modrusan made the statement on Monday while signing an agreement on a HRK 100,000 donation by Sisak-Moslavina County to remove mines from an area of 9,731 square metres in Petrinja, a town in Sisak-Moslavina County.

In line with the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction, or the Mine Ban Treaty, Croatia has undertaken to destroy, by 2019, all anti-personnel mines in mine-infested areas under its jurisdiction or control.
In Sisak-Moslavina County, 73 square kilometres of land remain suspected of being infested with mines.
Lika-Senj County is the only county more infested with mines than Sisak-Moslavina County.
