Divjak: Agreements mean 101 young researchers can remain in Croatia

ZAGREB, Oct 5 (Hina) - Minister of Science and Education Blazenka Divjak said on Thursday that the agreements signed with the government on Thursday were the first large step in reforms relating to excellence and science and would enable 101 young researches and their families to remain in Croatia.

The government on Thursday hosted an important event with the signing of a total of 35 project agreements valued at more than HRK 793 million in grants, 85% of which or more than HRK 696 million will come from European structural and investment funds.

The agreements were signed by the  director of the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (SAFU), Tomislav Petric, signed all the agreements with the relevant institutions that will be implementing the projects, while the Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds, Grabrijela Zalac, the Minister of Science and Education, Blazenka Divjak and Justice Minister Drazen Bosnjakovic co-signed them.

The projects that will continue for a period of five years relate to the development of research centres, equipment for hospitals and clinics, the conservation of cultural and natural heritage, the construction of student dorms and development of a judicial e-register.
