ZAGREB, Sept 19 (Hina) - Members of Parliament on Tuesday discussed several reports by the State Audit Office for the period from 2013 to 2015 and even though they commended the work of that institution, the institutions criticised in its reports were called to account, with Social Democratic Party (SDP) leader Davor Bernardic going as far as to tell the chief auditor that he could not "lie to the people by talking about recommendations" because by doing so, he was trying to shift the public's attention from the problem of corruption and crime, after which HDZ MPs reminded him that the audit reports referred to the period when his party was in power.
