That provision was rescinded because for the past three quarters economic growth was at least 2% and the state budget deficit was below 3%.
The 10% higher pensions, to be paid out in October, apply to 36,697 veterans, former MPs, ministers, Constitutional Court judges, academics and WWII fighters.
Finance Minister Zdravko Maric highlighted the veterans, saying on Thursday that they "once again made their contribution through the reduction of their pensions."
The fiscal effect of rescinding the provision amounts to HRK 353.5 million annually, he said, adding that HRK 90 million was envisaged in the budget for this year.
