The celebrations included historical games with citizens and onlookers able to take part in games like the "Sabre and Pumpkin."
The Cravat Regiment was designed by Marijan Busic, the author of the "Croatia - the Home of the Cravat" project.
The celebrations for the day are a joint project by the Cravat Regiment and the 'Academia Cravatica' under the auspices of the Zagreb City Tourist Board.
Dressed in replicas of the uniform worn by Croatian soldiers in the 17thc century, the regiment describes the historical emergence of the cravat as one of Croatia's unique contributions to the world's cultural heritage.
The project has been recognised as an original and exceptional tourist attraction that promotes Zagreb and Croatia as the capital of the cravat.
The regiment will perform its programme from July 10 to July 17 with the change of guard.
The programme this year was launched on Easter Monday - April 17 and since then the change of guard is conducted every weekend until October 18 marking Cravat Day.
