Presenting the programme for the festival's new edition, the chairwoman of the tourist broad in Varazdin, Jelena Toth, has recently said that this year there would be no stage in the Old Town, but instead the street festival for strollers and for exhibitions of traditional crafts would have four stages set up for around 60 concerts in the Varazdin historic centre.
In the past 18 years, Spancirfest has brought together nearly 3 million visitors and 10,000 performers in various events.
The basic idea of the festival is to make sure that during the period of the 10 days of the festival most visitors feel they belong to a particular cultural community that cultivates creative thinking, imagination and freedom of expression. Spancirfest gathers both professional and self-taught artists from all over the world.
