33,000 students finished higher education in Croatia in 2016

ZAGREB, July 9 (Hina) - Nearly 33,000 students graduated or completed higher education in Croatia in 2016, 73.7% of whom were full-time and 26.3% part-time students, mostly aged 22-24, and nearly 60% were women, the national statistical office has said.

Of the students who graduated or completed higher education last year, 77.2% did so at universities, 15.3% at polytechnics, 5.7% at schools of professional higher education, and 1.8% at art academies.

Also, 0.7% graduated or completed their studies according to the pre-Bologna programme and 99.3% according to the Bologna programme. According to the latter, 31.4% were enrolled in undergraduate university studies, 29.2% in graduate university studies, 23.6% in undergraduate professional studies, 8.1% in integrated undergraduate and graduate studies; 7.6% in specialist professional graduate studies; and 0.1% in short undergraduate professional studies.

Furthermore, 45.4% of the students who graduated or completed higher education were aged 22-24, 30.6% were aged 25-27, 3.7% were under 21 and 3.6% over 40.
