ZAGREB, May 24 (Hina) - The first international "Breakfast from Croatian Farms" campaign was held in Budapest on Wednesday at Nagy Vásásrcsarnok marketplace, and on that occasion Croatian Agriculture Minister Tomislav Tolusic said that Hungarians were welcome guests to Croatia and that he was glad the campaign was internationally launched in the Hungarian capital.

The "Breakfast from Croatian Farms" campaign presented tasting of various domestic products, including meat, milk and eggs from Croatian farms as well as honey and bread made from wheat from Croatian fields and is being held in Budapest on May 23 - 25.

"There has been talk for decades about the need to connect domestic producers with restaurants and hotels and I believe that we have taken the right direction in that regard. We haven't only dealt with promotional activities but have incorporated provisions in our regulations that will provide producers with fair working conditions and equal rights with their European counterparts," Minister Tolusic said, according to a press release from the ministry.

"It is still too early to asses the measures. However, the first statistical indicators show a reduction in imports and increased exports of food products," Tolusic said.

Hungary's deputy agriculture minister Isvtan Nagy accompanied Tolusic at the breakfast campaign and commended Croatia's good offer in food products and Croatia as one of the favourite tourist destinations for Hungarian tourists.

The programme of promoting Croatian products in Budapest is part of the "Croatian Market", an event launched by the Croatian Tourism Ministry, the Croatian Tourist Board's Hungarian office, and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce.
