Croatia's national reference rate "NRS" continues falling

Author: Marija Šestan

ZAGREB, May 24, (Hina) - The Croatian Banking Association (HUB) has made public the new calculation of the national reference rate for the average cost of the financing of the Croatian banking sector, which some of the banks operating in Croatia use as a variable parameter on existing and on new loans approved to Croatian citizens, and the latest figure show that this rate on average declined by 0.09-020 percentage points in the first quarter of 2017.

The values of the new rates of the 12-month national reference rate "NRS1" are thus 1.02% for the kuna and 1.31% for the euro.

Furthermore, the 12-month NRS2 implies 0.75% for the kuna and 1.17% for the euro. whereas the 12-month NRS3 is 0.90% for the kuna and 1.36% for the euro.

Currently, three commercial lenders tie their interest on loans to the NRS: ZABA, HPB (Croatian Postal Bank) and OTP.

The HUB notes that since the beginning of the application, NRS has continued to fall.
