Austrian Ambassador Andreas Wiedenhoff was in attendance at the official opening of the event in #tdzg Design Park on Tuesday evening and an exhibition of contemporary Austrian design was also prepared for this occasion in association with the Austrian Cultural Forum in Zagreb.
Over 300 exhibitors are promoting their works at 50 venues throughout the Croatian capital this May as part of efforts to popularise design.
Design Week has been held since 2014 with the aim of connecting designers with industry.
"Last year Design Week was visited by more than 18,000 people. The organisers have announced a great many new initiatives including both exhibitors and other content, including the highly attractive Food Design event which will bring together leading international experts in that young, interdisciplinary branch of design," the tourist board in Zagreb stated.
