This survey was conducted before the breakout of the crisis involving the debt-laden private retail and food group Agrokor and the findings were presented in Zagreb on Monday.
Broken down by sector, 55% of those polled were from the services sector, 19% from trade, 17% from manufacturing, 5% from the construction industry and 4% from the energy sector.
As many as 57% of those polled forecast good economic prospects, and 40% think the situation will remain unchanged.
Presenting the findings, the Croatian Telecom (HT) director Davor Tomaskovic said that directors covered by the poll had shown the biggest business optimism in since 2008.
As many as 66% of the respondents are hopeful of business development in 2017, 30% say the expect the situation to remain unchanged, and the rest (4%) were pessimistic.
RWE Croatia director Ralf Blomberg spoke about advantages and disadvantages of Croatia as a business destination.
The pros for choosing Croatia for doing business are the country's EU membership, skills and professional education of employees, productivity and infrastructure.
On the other hand, major disadvantages are taxes and tax system, administration, corruption and crime, and changeable economic policy.
