Croatia's adjustment to EU standards was a a painstaking process but it is now clear that these efforts are paying off, said the chairman of the committee (Ost Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft), Wolfgang Buechele.
According to the committee's figures, Croatia last year exported EUR 1.4 billion worth of goods to Germany, an increase of 17.1% from 2015.
At the same time, Croatia's imports from Germany amounted to EUR 2.95 billion, up 12.1% from 2015.
The statement said that Germany's trade with the entire southeast of Europe increased in 2016, notably with Romania and Croatia.
