Opening the complex on Tuesday, President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic's envoy, Regional Development and EU Funds Minister Gabrijela Zalac, said that she was pleased Vukovar now has such a valuable complex that is expected to positively impact the city's development through employment and use of the complex infrastructure.
Vukovar Mayor Ivan Penava recalled that the new complex was built on the site of a swimming pool built in the 1960s and seriously damaged in the Great Serbian aggression in 1991.
The complex consists of indoor and outdoor pools. The indoor pool measures 50 metres by 25 metres and is valued at HRK 50 million. The two outdoor pools are valued at about HRK 10 million.
